Blotnick/Westergaard/Osgood
This trio consists of myself and two of the most unique musicians on the danish jazz scene.
Jonas Westergaard has played extensively with John Tchicai, Michael Blake, Tim Berne, George Garzone, Oliver Lake, and nearly every musician that has passed through Copenhagen in the last 15 years. After playing over 30 gigs in 10 days in this year's jazz festival I watched him play quadruple time blues for a half hour straight without flinching. A monster bass player and composer who always adds the right harmonic foundation
Drummer Kresten Osgood has invented his own languages, toured with Kurt Rosenwinkel and Ben Street, recorded with Lonnie Smith, Sam Rivers, and played as a sideman with Brad Meldau, Joshua Redman and many others. He writes incredible tunes, plays the shit out of the organ and helped to start an independent record label in Copenhagen. He is one of the most expressive and natural musicians I have met. "Ryan Blotnick's playing has the rare blend of a modern conception with the depth of having explored and absorbed vocabulary of many of the jazz greats. His ideas are clear and straightforward, as well as his compositions." -Steve Cardenas
"Displaying a gracious tone and deep musical sensibility, Ryan's patience sets him apart from his peers." - Michael Blake
